Illustration to do with Coffee

Coffee Stains

I really like the idea of using coffee stains within illustration, this could be a suitable starting point for my illustration work within this area.

Coffee

I have chosen the coffee shop environment to design my illustrations around, as i feel creating a body of illustration within this area, will help in the design of ceramics. It could be produced onto mugs and plate, this would be suitable for the coffee shop environment.

Using Simple Imagery

I think that the more simpler the imagery, then the better results when it comes to print production. Also this will keep the cost of production down as well.

Delft Blue

Delft blue is used a lot within the illustration of ceramics. Usually seen on fine china and is likely the most used ink within the ceramics area. I should take this way of illustrating into consideration when it come illustrating onto this particular material.

Hayon Studios - Fantasy Collection

The creations in The Fantasy collection which Jaime Hayon has designed for Lladró, mirror the perfect fusion between the artistic quality of the Spanish porcelain brand and the playful, fantasy quality the designer brings to his works. The balance between expression and function, the studied combination of Lladró’s usual themes and the magic of the unexpected that Hayon is known for, make these pieces truly original objects that, over and above their decorative potential, awaken a sense of fantasy in the beholder. This work I feel is really stylistic and shows the quality of illustration onto ceramics, I want to try and get similar effects within my own work.

Maxim Velcovsky

I find particular artist really intreating in the particular way he puts twists on his ceramics. His work is quite kitsch but i feel that it has an appropriate style to what he is trying to achieve within his pieces. I feel i need to take this into consideration when i came to printing onto ceramics, so i can get the best possible resolutions.
